About Fire in Ice
Fire in Ice is Downtown Frederick's signature winter celebration, organized by the Downtown Frederick Partnership and tied to the February First Saturday. This free two-day festival transforms the historic district and Carroll Creek Park into a winter wonderland with more than 100 life-sized ice sculptures, live ice carving, fire performances by Pyrophoric, interactive ice attractions, and family activities.
Held annually in late January or early February, the festival showcases downtown Frederick while drawing crowds from across the region. The contrast of ice artistry on Carroll Creek and fire shows at the Amphitheater creates a memorable experience for all ages.
